Bryan supports parent's control and choice in their child's education.

School Mandates: Councilman Gossage opposes mandatory school reassignment and mandatory year-round schooling.

Charter Schools: After finding that Charter Schools weren't allowed to receive surplus materials from other public agencies, Bryan worked closely with NC Rep. Paul Stam (R-Apex) on the matter.  In the 2005 Session, Rep. Stam amended House Bill 1230 to include Charter Schools as eligible recipients. The bill passed the House 115-1.
