Time winding down on

home improvement event

The chance to work on your home fee-free in Apex is nearly over.

The Town’s 90-day Home Improvement Holiday comes to an end on Friday, June 29, 2007.

The temporary waiver of permit and inspection fees applies specifically to:

     ■Additions to existing residences.

     ■Remodeling of existing residences.

     ■Roof replacement for existing residences.

     ■Accessory Structures (decks, storage buildings and the like).

     ■Enclosures such as patios, screened porches and sunrooms.

     ■Block walls and/or columns for existing residences or their yards.

     ■Swimming pools, spas, hot tubs for existing residences.

The temporary waiver of permit and inspection fees also applies whether the homeowner decides it’s a “Do It Yourself” project or hires a contractor.

Homeowners who are planning a home improvement project and want more information about the Home Improvement Holiday should call the Town of Apex Permits & Inspections Office at (919) 249-3418 or stop by the Apex Town Hall located in at 73 Hunter Street to speak with a Permits Specialist.
